You can find City Summit at Unit 2/26 Harris Road, Malaga. Turn into Truganina Road from Alexander Drive, then turn right onto Harris Road. Please drive around the left bend and you will see us! Check the ‘Contact’ page for the map!
How much does it cost to climb?
Climbing prices start from as little at $10. Check the pricing page for all the details. Those doing top rope climbing (newbie this is you) will need a climbing partner who will operate the ropes on the ground. If this person isn’t climbing, they will still need a harness. Entry is free for spectators.
Do you hire equipment?
Yes! everything that you need to climb can be hired from the Pro Shop. You can either pay for anything you need individually or combine the complete kit of shoes, chalk bag and harness. For prices please refer to our pricing page.
Are children welcome?
Yes! Children can start climbing from the age of 4 with a parent or guardian or through one of the youth courses at the centre. Full instruction is provided for parents to safely belay their child. Parental supervision is required at all times to ensure your child’s safety, whether they are climbing or spectating. Tuition is available through our Kids Club or School Holiday Program.
What are the benefits of rock climbing?
Rock climbing provides a complete body workout combining both cardio and muscular exercise. Regular climbing will help to lose weight, increase muscle tone and body flexibility as well as improve your cardiovascular system. It is also a great way to meet new people and build friendships.
I have never climbed before. Are beginners welcome?
Yes! Many of our climbers are beginners. On arrival our instructors will take you through an induction and spend the time necessary with you to ensure you learn the basic skills and gain confidence to continue unsupervised. There are always instructors available on the floor should you require any help or if you have any questions. First time visitors check out our ‘first timers’ information.
Can I climb by myself?
Yes you can! Head to the bouldering wall and climb our huge 5.5m high wall with more than 25 meter of surface including a boulder cave. Large thick safety mats line the floor. We can also help you find a climbing partner (see below).
Is rock climbing safe?
Indoor rock climbing does not make the list for adrenaline sports and with all the best practices in place it is considered a low injury risk and carries a good safety profile. City Summit enforces safe practices within the climbing gym to minimise risk and injury.
Can you help me find a climbing partner?
There are always people of varying abilities looking for someone to climb with. We encourage people to join our facebook group or come to a social night at the centre. Check out our facebook page or give us a call. Tuesday and Thursday nights are generally the busiest so we can always try to pair you up with someone if you drop in.
What facilities does City Summit have?
On entry you will find the Pro Shop that is stocked with all the equipment you need to get serious or just make a start with climbing. Here you can also hire any gear for use in the centre. Lockers are available and shower facilities on the ground floor and you can get great food and coffee to take upstairs to enjoy in the lounge area and mezzanine overlooking the climbing floor.
Do you have a functions area?
Yes our functions area is upstairs. This can be booked for corporate or private functions, including children’s birthday parties. We offer full catering options and discounts for climbing entry and harness hire. Check our ‘groups’ page for details.
How do I make a group booking?
If you would like to book in a group of 10 or more people then please call us on 9248 7035 or fill in the form found on our group bookings page. We have facilities to cater for corporate groups, school groups, kids birthday parties and private functions.
What packages do you offer for corporate functions?

What courses do you offer?
First time climbers are taken through an induction with an instructors who will spend the time with you to ensure you learn the basic skills and gain the confidence to continue unsupervised.
Climbers who want to take it to the next level and are climbing grades 18+ can get on our Lead Course. Beginners and intermediate climbers hoping to improve without the need for strength training will suit the Fundamental Skills & Techniques course. Kids Courses run each term and also 3 day course during school holidays. Youth climbers who want to be athletes can apply for our Youth Squad.
What grade climbs do you offer experienced climbers?
City Summit’s climbing gym was built by climbers, for climbers. Our climbing walls are graded from 8 to 35 and routes are reset often so you will be sure to find a challenge. Our centres also features a bridge section across the roof that links to a wall providing you with a 22 meter long climb. If you are serious about a challenge, try the Dreamcatcher, a grade 35 climb based on Cacodemon Boulder in Squamish, BC.
How often do you change the routes and problems?
We want our climbers to be continually challenged which is why we have a schedule in place for the ongoing changes to our walls. We have a great team of route setters who create challenging climbs for various levels of climbers and we love to mix up the combination of wall faces, inclines, holds and volumes to keep you challenged.
