What is involved in a typical class?

Summit Youth classes focus on competency of skills in top roping, bouldering, knots, rope work, equipment safety and maintenance.  Advanced students can be introduced to lead climbing and ongoing students who have passed the prescribed skills can focus on climbing techniques and training.

Pebbles Club is a great introduction to the skills and techniques of rock climbing in a safe and fun environment for your child. This is a great introduction course with less emphasis placed on tangible or structured progression. Instead the focus is on student participation and enjoyment while students are guided through different tasks, activities and games centred on rock climbing skills.

Our experienced instructors work with each student to achieve their goals, monitor their progress and provide feedback. Parents are encouraged to get involved by assisting with belaying or other activities. You are also welcome to show support from the upstairs lounge or leave your child in our care for their class time.

What happens if I miss a class?  We do not offer refunds or makeup classes if your child misses a class however your child can take advantage of the unlimited entry and free gear hire to make up for any missed classes and our instructors will happily pass on a summary of class content.
